Amr Mohamed Abdel Galil is an Egyptian actor born on January 10, 1963, in Cairo. He began his career in 1986 with a role in the play "Al-Bulldozer" starring Mohamed Negm. He is known for his comedic and dramatic roles in Egyptian cinema.

He was born to a family of six children, one of whom is his twin, Ayman. His brothers include screenwriter Tarek Abdel Galil and consultant Hesham Abdel Galil. He began his career in 1986 with a role in the play "Al-Bulldozer" starring Mohamed Negm. His next direct work was with the great director Youssef Chahine in the second film of his Alexandria trilogy, "Alexandria Again and Again," marking one of the most important milestones in his career. His third film was the film "Laughter, Play, Seriousness, and Love," released in 1993, starring Amr Diab. Despite his strong start, he continued to play a number of supporting roles for a long period, starting from the beginning of the nineties, starting with the series (And the Nile is Still Flowing) in 1992, then with three films in 1993, namely (Disco Disco, Laughter, Play, Seriousness and Love, Why, O Pyramid). In 1994, he had his second important collaboration with director (Youssef Chahine) in his film (The Emigrant). He continued to play supporting roles in a number of works, the most important of which are the series (Harun al-Rashid 1997, Return My Heart - in the role of Prince Ibrahim, Angie's husband - in 1998, Winds of the East 1999, The Sea Mandy 2002, A Girl from Shubra 2003, People in Kafr Askar 2003, Mahmoud al-Masry 2004, Salt of the Earth 2004), and in the film (Gamal Abdel Nasser) 1999, in the role of (Zakaria Mohie al-Din), and in an honorary role in 2005 in the film (Gazelle's Blood). The turning point in Amr Abdel Gelil's career was in 2007, when he co-starred for the third time with Youssef Chahine in his latest film (Chaos), co-directed with Khaled Youssef. In Khaled Youssef's film (When Misra), released in the same year, he played an important comedic role as the simple citizen (Fathi), who is married and lives in a slum area and can barely make ends meet. The role revealed his comedic talent in a new way compared to his previous performances. In the same year, he also starred in (The Nightingale of Dokki) with Mohamed Henedy. In 2008, he starred in the independent film (The Jungle), and the following year, he starred with Khaled Youssef for the second time in his film (Dokkan Shehata). In 2010, he had his first starring role in a leading role in his third collaboration with Khaled Youssef in the comedy film (Please Call Me, Thank You). The following year, he starred in the comedy film (The Scream of an Ant), written by his brother Tarek Abdel Gelil. In 2013, he appeared in the TV series "The Second Wife," playing the role of Othman Al-Omda. In 2014, he starred in the comedy film "Saeed Claquette." Until 2015, Amr Abdel-Galil appeared in approximately 80 films, including theater, television, and cinema. His artistic career continued, and his latest film, "Casablanca," achieved great success in Egypt.

He is also related to the artist Mohamed Negm.
